Sign-in cookies
CVIndex uses a session cookie for sign-in, account security and continuity of authentication. Sessions are configured for up to 30 days. Removing or blocking the session cookie can sign you out or prevent account features from working. A cookie is not created solely because an anonymous visitor reads the landing page.
Local storage
The key cvindex:theme:v1 stores the colour theme you select. The key cvindex:cookie-notice:v1 records acknowledgement of the cookie notice. These values are stored in your browser, are not advertising identifiers and remain until you clear site data or the application changes them.
Some existing browsers may also contain a profile draft from an earlier version of CVIndex. The account interface can import that draft and remove it after saving. Clearing browser storage removes any such local copy.
What the banner means
The “Got it” button acknowledges the notice. It is not consent to advertising, marketing, public profile publication or processing unrelated to the notice. The notice can be reopened using the footer button on the landing page.
External services
Google or LinkedIn sign-in opens an external provider when selected. The article page embeds a YouTube video that can contact YouTube when the page loads, before playback. Public profiles can load images from external hosts and generated avatars from DiceBear. These services may process connection information and use their own cookies or similar technologies.
This notice does not itself block embedded content or provide an optional-cookie consent manager.
Server-side statistics
Public profile readership statistics are processed on the server and do not rely on an analytics cookie. They include a pseudonymous daily visitor hash and request information. Their purposes, retention and your rights are described in the Privacy Policy.
Managing storage
Use your browser’s site settings to inspect or delete cookies and local storage, or to block third-party cookies. Clearing CVIndex data resets saved preferences and may sign you out. Browser restrictions on cookies do not necessarily prevent all connections to external services.
